alice blue was an easy enough color for this round of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge because there were so many events recently that had great shades of blue that either fit or complemented the challenge. i’m staying with my bf atm, so i get to use his great comp that lets me use shadows & mesh, woohoo <3 (yeah, as if THAT was one of the great perks of staying with him :P)

after finishing zombie popcorn for the rumor and doing this challenge, i’m pretty much blogged out for the week. basically katiroth and i finished up the hunt in a day because we’re diligent like that, and lucky for us, kismet was up to approve it. hunt blogging is actually pretty fun because i get to go through poses to find the best ones to display clothing or makeup or nails, what have you. i would do a hunt again, i’m just not sure what’s in store for me yet :D

i love me some hot hookers, who doesn’t? that’s why i chose to spend the night over at kimbra’s, along with miss kismet. it’s a good thing my name doesn’t start with a k. we all got dolled up to take some hottie tottie vday pixxx. everyone looks scrumptious, even my HUGE cameltoe. don’t act like you didn’t notice it.

i turned this week’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge into a chinese new year tribute (yay for being a quarter chinese). the color patina actually reminds me of emerald jade, but rather than scour the grid for the jewelry, i thought it would be pretty to find a jade-colored cheongsam. well, that was a bit tougher than i had wished it would have been.

looking up “cheongsam” on the marketplace and not expecting dated, low quality garments is pretty bold. the one i chose ended up having a system skirt…oh my god. it ballooned over my hips and ass to a point where i thought i could have served as a flotation device for a cruise ship of people. i fixed it as much as i could to make it look normal, hah. good thing i have lighting, angles, and photoshop on my side.

again with the return key submitting. i bought so many couples poses, thanks vday for being so fabulous that creators give discounts in your name. nano wanted a bunch of cheesy lovey poses (this one is his pick), i liked all the conventional-yet-unconventional ones. that doesn’t really make sense, but it did to me at the time.

i especially wanted to feature nanoface because i’ve been on the lookout for cool meshy things for him to wear, as requested. or rather, suggested. mesh tends to reflect some windlights really well, and i’m kind of infatuated with the effect.

i’m editing all this stuff in because tumblr thought my enter key meant submit, not return. ffs. anyway, this song sets the mood for this post. it might as well be titled sweet talk as well, with nano’s alt creator bombastic (like the shaggy song ayyy).

felt like doin some alts to finish up my flickr allowance. i don’t remember the exact credits, and the bf is already sleeping. i know the shirt is villena, one of the new mesh shirts, and the jeans are by pumpkin, mesh jeans from the lucky board. the legs are so skinny, bf calls it “walking on stilts”. i didn’t take a picture of the back because apparently the male version of the jeans give him a booty (the girl ones don’t, he tried them), so the junk in his trunk sticks out of the mesh shirt in the back. of course, that didn’t stop him from galloping around the sim that i wanted to take pics in. pose is by olive juice, i believe.

i had weird sky graphic bugs taking this pic ~_~ anyway, new skin, new profile pic. it looks like a cleaner version of rehab’s kara, which until now has been my go-to skin. the body itself is detailed to a tee, including a lovely tight ass. hah. i had problems with the cleavage layer i bought though.

it looks like this. now, i think this mark is there to ward off people who want to use body co cleavage with other skins or something. in any case, i hope it isn’t intended to look THIS glaringly awful. i’m a new owner of a body co skin, so maybe someone else knows this better than me. i dropped an nc to thebodyco, asking about this, so we’ll seeee. chamomile chest, indeed.

yup, so iron happened (yay 52 Weeks of Color) much earlier in the week, because i already had the direction i wanted to go with. also, if every week looks like some awful typography slapped onto the picture, that’s because it is. i wasn’t sure if i should continue with the same font every week, but it looked awful last week and it certainly looks out of place this week.

anyway, with iron, i took an artistic liberty and went for a silver that matched the brightness of the swatch. the ears i used liked to change colors with the windlight and i didn’t know how to fix that, so bright white ears it is. at least i had an excuse to use a much-loved curio skin from the past, called pout. curio seems to work really well with the dreamlike state of faun and all associated.

this sim that is still deftly preserved by the winter is the piccara main store sim.

when i first purchased this hair by mina at the black market (no demo x_x), i wasn’t too sure about it. it looked a little too disheveled for even my normal disheveled look. however, the boyf suggested i keep it for a shower piccy. at that point, i challenged him to make a mesh towel so i can take said shower pic.

well, the boyf has been too bz with work lately to do anything productive on SL, and glitterati beat him to the chase. this towel CAN come with a bunch of glitterati poses, but i bought the towel separate. i do love that i was given the option to buy it separately! instead i used another glitterati pose and one of the poses i won from the adorkable gacha at the seasons gacha. woo, a decent amount of effort for a picture that has 3 worn items (yes, i stripped my normal 5 tattoo layers of makeup, jesus). wait, i think i have an eyelash layer. it looks fresh-faced enough anyhow.

this is my smexy mr Lo. lo is short for lopaka, a hawaiian name. naturally, he is my alt. naturally, my bf hates when i log on him. but whatever, he was in desperate need of a makeover. he was in a dendou skin and freebies when i last logged on (that was all i could be fucked to buy for him at the time), and i’ve been noticing a lot more great stuff for male avatars lately. i decided to amp it up a bit and update! i didn’t even deign to take pictures of the before.

trying to fix his shape is always so difficult, because for some reason, male proportions boggle me. especially trying to fit his body into mesh, i had a fun time juggling the sliders. however, i think i reached a fine balance between tall, built, and skinny. that’s pretty much how i like ‘em. it’s really just more fuel to the fire burning in nano’s head about my alt when i describe him this way. whatever man, taking shots of my alt definitely makes me want to work with my bf’s avis and his alts, so in the end, everyone winz. ^_______^ i think his face ended up being captured as more polynesian-looking than intended because face-on, his nose is very wide-looking and that’s not the case. it could also be his mouth’s high position and turned-down corners. i was interested in making him look “mixed”, just because that’s what i am. i hope i succeeded.

hmm electric indigo, this was a toughie. only the 3rd one in, and already i lack the appropriate color in my inventory. still, i had stores in mind to hit up. i went to emery, remembering its style penchant for bright colors, and found an indigo skirt.

to go with the skirt, i wanted to find something at a store that i don’t go to often. i recently picked up a jack spoon blouse at fashionably late, and realized i didn’t have any other pieces from that store in my inventory. this store is actually really reasonably priced, i bought this body suit for 14L, and it included 2 colors!

for shoes, i wanted something dressy because i knew i wanted to use tights with this outfit. i saw a bunch of people in the new leverocci mesh goodies on the feeds, so i looked it up on the marketplace. usually the first thing i do when i find a good store is look them up on the marketplace to see the range of things they offer. so convenient. they had these mesh oxford pumps in this great blue color called mdma, great find because i love the oxford/tights look irl.

pretty happy with the ~~outfit~~outcome of the outfit, and i already have things in mind for iron >:]

i’m taking a page out of kimbra’s book here and taking the time to blog about music, or as she affectionately calls it, “musex”. perfect wardrobe’s theme was fairytale, so this song by dye called “fantasy” is perfect. i’m posting the audio file and not the video because, well, the video is fucked up. like quentin tarantino meets hayao miyazaki meets whoever creates the aphex twin videos kind of fucked up. major. anyway.

this coat, by [w]ynter, is ridiculously fun to wear. traipsing to and fro around this woodland sim, with “fantasy” playing, it’s right out of a fairytale. well, with this genre of music, maybe a twilight fairytale. but i swear, that’s the only way twilight will involve itself here.

after wearing it around for pictures, i realized that this hood is a lot like the one the character argenta wears in the game i play with my bf, dragon nest. argenta’s costume is really…sought after, i mean people even cosplay that shit. i’m not about to go grab a white wig and pretend i’m argenta irl, even just for a LITTLE BIT, but i can mimic her likeness in sl.

no photo bombs today, quel dommage. it’s still winter at my house, and i don’t really plan on renovating it until maybe mid-feb. i enjoy winter time too much, don’t tell me it’s over :( spring can sleep a little more, don’t come early!

one of my friends irl is into doing monochromatic looks with boldly-colored pieces or accessories. this seems easy to do as a guy, which he is, because you basically only need maybe 2 good pairs of pants, maybe 5 shirts, and 3 outerwear and you’re good for the season. my personal style varies from day to day, so pulling this off and buying a bunch of clothes just to keep with the monochrome, god, the cost would be astronomical. i admire the dedication it takes to upkeep a fashion new years resolution, but is it for me? not really.

still, i decided to play around with a similar kind of style (plus, i hadn’t yet used this tres blah kimono and i was looking for a neat way to do so). i used the black kimono and the neutral-colored kyoot dress paired with loud emerald tights from actchio and flashy pumps. i even used a necklace, and i n e v e r accessorize. cheers to coming out bold in the new year.

i tried to avoid Lana Del Taco’s honey-tongued persuasion for the longest time, but it ended up being all in vain. i like the lyrics for video games, but the video for born to die was a lot more visually inspiring. i went to tableau and used the desert backdrop for these images that i’m pretty happy with. i wish my coral pic was in the same caliber of outcome as these, grhahrehwrwh. if i could keep re-doing it and re-submitting it, i would. for some reason, although the sky & sim were perfect and beautiful, it ended up looking really awful when i was done with it. :< sigh, let it go.

i saw the weekly color challenge group chat pop up and realized how many people have already gotten their pictures sorted out. i hadn’t realized sunday was sort of ~the day~ to post. i suppose i could’ve waited, but i already had an idea of an outfit in mind by the end of last week. it’s beach season all year long here in hawaii, and coral is the perfect beach color. to accompany my beachwear, i used the vive9 hair and lagyo earrings from this month’s collabor88. as for next week’s color, electric indigo…well i’m a bit fucked, aren’t i. looking at the color, it’s between blue and violet, so a certain shade of either may just pass. welp, onto the next one.

i like taking pictures on location, and so i’ve been exploring different places that have really amazing builds for backdrops. however, the thing about exploring for photo locations is that more often than not, these are rp locations. depending on the theme, they could also be…combat rp locations. i have nothing against them, but i do try to get by without encountering any combat. sometimes i find a quiet place to plop down and pose, and i see people on my radar coming closer and closer so i panic and tp away, rofl. i need a body guard or something!

i saw this “chihuahua” hair by amerie and i knew i had to get it. super adorable! and yes, shadowplay again, because i’m not wearing any mesh and one of the only things that inhibits me from using the old kviewer for shadows. the other thing is that sometimes prims disappear when i enable them, so hair doesn’t end up looking as good, etc.

i have to say, one thing i haven’t been crediting is poses, which is stupid because poses set a tone for a picture and therefore deserve credit. i used to think, oh how easy it must be to create poses, they’re all the same, but that was when i had a box of awful freebie poses. now i’ve amassed a collection of them, and have grown to have a few favorite pose makers. this pose is by glitterati, one of the two “behind” pose packs that i bought because i thought i didn’t have enough booty pix ;p

a little new, a little old. i’ve been meaning to blog a severed garden outfit, and listening to the vickileekx mixtape inspired me to do it. i also ran to buy one of the new mother goose skins, called josephine. the face on my shape kind of reminds me of mena suvari, n i dig it.

as much as i hate the lucky board scene, i must admit that mother goose pulls out all the stops for these, all set at 3m at the main store i believe. i demo’d josephine and i THOUGHT it may have been the same on the highest lucky board, so i waited around 2 hours while watching waiting to exhale. D never showed up, ofc, i’m CURSED. i went back this morning and waited around forever until i tp’d kismet in, and voila. D appeared, just for me. turns out it was slightly different than josephine, but cute nevertheless.

i also missed using shadows/dof so i used my old kirstens viewer that sadly lacks the mesh code. if only i could figure out a way for these options to work when i’m wearing mesh >:[ maybe bf will help me :D

it’s Luna Jubilee’s 52 weeks of color challenge, and i’m attempting to participate at the gentle prodding request of my dear kismet. i tried to do the 365 photo thing last year, but that ended up being a poor attempt. it turns out, i’m not very good at sticking to things, which is why i have 0 resolutions this year, just internalized plans to become a better person, yada yada yada.

this week’s color was champagne, naturally (i <3 barefoot bubbly, so yummm yet so weak), and a search in my inventory turned up the following: truth hair & maitreya shoes. off to a decent start, but i don’t really feel like starting off the year in my nudiepants and JUST those items. i went with a gold/beige bodysuit from r.icielli’s great new years pack, because gold fabric tends to be more of a champagne shade anyway. i wish i had some bubbly to break out in celebration of creating this post, but hot chocolate will have to do.

it’s a new year, woot! i love clean slates, i love to wipe my dirty personal issues all over them. mmmmmmmm yes. weirdoness aside, i picked up a bunch of stuff from the recent sales. of course there was flf, which i royally invested my L in. i got the mesh boots by fir & mina, although i, like everyone else, wish they were rigged mesh. for 50L though, you can’t complain too much.

from tdr, i got the fishy strawberry valentines pack that included this sexy revealing cardigan, and paired it with the mesh ricielli skirt. i didn’t really think before buying the skirt, really, i just saw CUTE MESH and it was instabuy. i really should have a better thought process that includes how to accommodate my ass in something so constricting like mesh, before buying. i put it on, and yeah…buttcheeks were coming through the cracks, even with the alpha layer. i dejectedly lowered my ass and hip sliders, but the weird thing is that there are still transparencies that the alpha creates that aren’t covered. perhaps a glitch layer would’ve been better suited? i found a pose by label motion that hid the alpha part showing, so all was good.

i also very much welcomed the reincarnation of stumblebum. insufferable dastard is pretty much my go-to eye place, so buying the eyes from there was a no-brainer. this “real eyes” version doesn’t disappoint, i bought a color that was strikingly blue. loveee.
